Bioparco, the Zoological Garden of Rome, known simply as the Zoo, is located within the Villa Borghese Park. The Zoo, inaugurated in 1908 was conceived as a zoo without barriers, with only large ditches separating animals from the public, and it is one of the oldest European zoological parks. The Modern Biopark is fruit of past experience and plays a key role in the conservation of species at risk of extinction. Bioparco hosts about 200 species of animals from mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians originating from the 5 continents. Inside, you can admire the Sumatra Tigers, the Orangutans, Comodo Dragons, Giraffes and Lemurs from Madagascar.

Arriving at the Bioparco from Hotel Felice is very easy and fast, with the Tram No3, that is direct to the "Bioparco" stop from the hotel.

Hotel Felice is happy to suggest an alternative route in Rome, outside the center and the usual touristy itineraries. Take the underground at Termini Station and stop at St.Agnese / Annibaliano, a few minutes walk from there and you can visit the Catacombs of Priscilla: developed in more than 13 km of underground paths, these catacombs were dug out into the tuff from the second until the fifth century AD and that's why they were nicknamed the "Queen of the Catacombs". Anyone who enters them remains so enraptured, we definitely recommend a visit.

Once out of the Catacombs of Priscilla you are in the near Villa Ada Park, the second largest park in Rome, along the old Roman Via Salaria. In addition to the countless types of plants and animals species that live and thrive within the park, you can enjoy the many cultural and musical events held in the park, especially in summertime: one for all is the Festival "Rome Meets the World", a traditional event that lasts all summer long and hosts every year international artists and musicians.

Hotel Felice has decided to recommend all dear guests, an alternative route in Rome and ... close to us: to visit some sights of Rome away from the usual and crowded tourist routes. "Our" Tiburtino and San Lorenzo districts are not only known for the renewed and modern Tiburtina station, an increasingly important hub for those who reach Rome by train. Here you can fully enjoy with no stress hidden wonders and gems, really worth visiting: the Basilica of San Lorenzo Fuori le Mura ('Outside the Walls'), for example, one of the most important churches in Rome, as well as the underlying stunning Catacomb of Ciriaca (a.k.a. San Lorenzo's Catacomb) and the nearby Monumental Cemetery of Verano, which in addition to hosting the graves of countless celebrities, is a true open-air museum from an architectural and sculptural point of view. In the nearby you find the Catacomb of Novaziano in Viale Regina Elena and the Catacomb of St. Ippolito on the Via Tiburtina too.

At night, the San Lorenzo district, widely considered one of the liveliest areas in Rome from a cultural point of view (thanks to the near University La Sapienza), is populated by students and artists who gather to the many pubs and clubs and open art galleries; the Tiburtina / San Lorenzo districts are within walking distance to Hotel Felice, that's why we suggest to fully live and enjoy the place.

Hotel Felice recommends to all its guests the following morning itinerary to fully experience the wonders of the Vatican without stress.

Start early from the Hotel Felice, around 8.30 am: in 10 minutes of easy walk you will be at the entrance of the Termini Metro Station, take the Line A towards Battistini and get off at Ottaviano "San Pietro"; at this point you are 5 minutes walk from the Vatican Museums and this will be your first stop; the museums open right at 9.00, so you can enter after a short wait at the entrance and fully enjoy the masterpieces of ancient and Renaissance art kept in it: do not miss a visit to the beautiful Sistine Chapel. We remind you that the Vatican Museums are open every day from 9.00 to 18.00 (last admission at 16.00). The closing day is Sunday, but the last Sunday of each month (excluding the most important Catholic celebrations) admission is free! In addition, on the occasion of special events and cultural days the Vatican Museums are opened exceptionally even in the evening.

Leaving the Vatican Museums, head to nearby St Peter's Square and admire from the outside and from the inside the Basilica of St Peter, the largest of the four papal basilicas in Rome, considered by all the largest church in the world, if only because it constitutes the centre of Catholicism. Here too, do not miss the masterpieces in it, one above all the Pietà by Michelangelo. We remind you that the entrance to the Basilica of San Pietro is allowed until 19.00 with appropriate clothing.

Finally leave the Basilica and the majestic colonnade of St Peter's Square and walk along Via della Conciliazione, turning back from time to time to admire the dome ("er cuplolone" in Roman) that goes away and take your most beautiful photos. At the end of Via della Conciliazione you can visit another symbol of Rome, Castel Sant'Angelo, also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian.
